Some Positive Things

I don’t like to spend all my time pointing out things I disagree with. I thought I would point out a few things I love about Transworld.

1. My students. My students are awesome. No doubt about it. They are funny, most are eager to learn, and make for some pretty fun classes. Some of them are incredibly creative, and I love seeing the ideas that they come up with in writing class.

2. My Chair, Dr. Simon Zhang. He is an extremely good administrator and Chair for the department. Perhaps it’s just the Taiwanese way, but he is a bit older and very experienced, so he gets a lot of respect and “face” and manages to get things done. I, for one, appreciate it.

3. The President. Even though I disagree with a lot of Transworld Policy/events/actions, the President is rather amiable and it’s not hard to setup a meeting with him to discuss things or talk about problems. I’ve had probably 3-4 meetings with him myself about various issues and written him several proposals/letters to discuss certain issues. I think it’s pretty great that someone can get facetime with the president of a university.

That’s three for now. I’ll think of some others and post again.
